Farewell
to piper Chris Grant who moved school this month leaving behind
the band and the Lochaber area. We wish him well.
2006
After
a year or so of major fundraising, we've pretty much reached
our goal. Thanks to everyone who made it happen. Of course we'll
still have the can out in the summer - some things will never
change!
October
2006
Grant
from the Coop to help purchase a set of Bandspec capes for everyone.
Well, it is Fort William and yes it does rain here.....sometimes!!
Capes should arrive just in time for the Remembrance parades
in November.

The
band said their goodbyes to drummer Debbie Wh
itehead and Pipe
Sergeant Calum MacColl. Between them, over 10 years performing
with the band. Good luck guys!

Grant
received from the North British Hotel Trust to finance new tenor
and bass drums that will compliment our new snare drums.
March
2006
The
band made a successfully lottery application. We received a
grant of £3,673 from the Scottish Arts Council's Awards
for All programme. This was to help fund the purchase of new
uniforms.
The
band performed for the premiere of Lochaber Hydrotherapy's fund
raising DVD 'Here's Tae Lochaber' All proceeds from the DVD
will go towards this local charity.
We
were delighted to receive a cheque for £750 from Ladbrokes
Charitable Trust. Thanks to Angela Chivers and all at Ladbroke's
Fort William branch for their fund raising efforts.

Lochaber
Enterprise approved financial assistance of up to £6,020
to help towards the purchase of new uniforms and instruments.

2005
An
auction of Celtic & Manchester United tops and a Celtic
football raised £280 for band funds. Thanks to Erin, Carolyn,
Flora, the Beagrie family and Nevis Radio for their help. (10

The band was awarded a grant of £2,500 by Lloyd's TSB
Foundation for Scotland towards the cost of purchasing new snare
drums. (12 Dec)

August - The band played in Cameron
Square, Fort William and raised £300 for Marie Curie Cancer
Care.
Pipefest
2005 - The pipe band played in a world record-breaking
group of 9100 pipers and drummers at Holyrood Park in Edinburgh.
The event was organised to raise funds for Marie Curie Cancer
Care.

- The band said a fond farewell to Pipe Major Sean
Cameron, Pipe Sergeant Ruaraidh MacPherson and drummer Elaine
Reid. LSPB thanks them all for their many years of playing.
Our
number 1 fan, 'Wee Roddy' (at the young age of 83) was recognised
tonight for his many years collecting for the band. He was presented
with a commemorative quaich

band launch an appeal to raise funds towards the cost of renewing
their uniform and drums - now 15 years old.
